"Made in Madiana" was a two-semester endeavor and served as my Senior Thesis at Woodbury University. Alongside design, my goal was to further explore my love for writing through the knowledge I acquired on the topic of Creole culture, my very own culture which, until this project, I had often neglected was a part of me. The first semester of the saga was dedicated solely to research, consisting of various research papers exploring different aspects of my topic, in-depth analyses, and a culminating dissertation. The second semester focused solely on creating a design solution based on keywords taken from the previous semester's research. The design focus of this project was typesetting and formatting with imagery. All short stories were written by yours truly, and all poems have been credited to the artists to whom they belong. All photography used within the book is sourced from the internet, and the covers were hand-painted using a mix of gouache as well as watercolors. The final output is a print publication, but a digitized version has been included for your enjoyment.
