Village for Vets is a third-year student project, as well as competition, with the goal to re-brand the Brentwood-based non-profit organization of the same name. This institution cares for veterans in need by providing them with resources for jobs, as well as food and housing. All students worked personally with Marcie Polier Swartz, founder of the organization, and with her feedback, catered a design system suitable for public display and usage. The logo is inspired by the sense of community provided by this group, thus the star "carrying" the village like a human entity. The star is also a subtle reminder of patriotism, as veterans who have fought for us are being cared for. A stationery was created, as well as street banners advertising one of their events, a media kit meant to be handed out to volunteers or potential fund donors, which includes a fact sheet presenting various programs and statistics. Lastly, their website was re-designed, and web banners were also made. This particular project was selected in second place during the final competition, and was displayed during the End of Year Student Showcase at Woodbury University in the Spring 2019 semester.
